Hi
Welcome to my first blog post and I hope you enjoy the regular updates that I will be posting to keep you all up to date with what is going on in the world of Cookies on the Edge.
Firstly, I thought I would introduce myself and give you some background information about who I am, what I love doing and what made me get in to the cookie business. So you can all hopefully see the passion I have in what I do.
My name is Tarran and I am 36, I live in Coopers Edge, Gloucestershire with my wife and my cat Storm. I have always had a passion for baking, whether that be cakes, brownies or cookies and this started when I was at secondary school and really enjoyed the Food Technology (Home Economics, to those old enough like me) practical lessons, but always found baking was more enjoyable than "Cooking".

This is not my only passion and I am a season ticket holder at Cheltenham Town FC and I also enjoy going to the gym. My love for CTFC started when my Uncle used to take me to games on a Saturday, so I would help him out with his window cleaning round, so we could go every other week. I always enjoyed going and this culminated in me first becoming ball boy for the reserves, to then working on the turnstiles on a matchday, before becoming the Match Day co-ordinator for turnstiles. After doing this job for several years, I hung up my lanyard and bought a season ticket and have not looked back since. From my first game in 1997 to the present day I thoroughly enjoy going, and being able to take my nephews now they are older makes it even more enjoyable.
Back to the baking and in November 2021, I decided it was time to stop putting off what I believe is my calling and launched Cookies on the Edge and specialising in what are called NYC cookies as I after a lot of research it appeared there was no one within the county producing these, the market seemed saturated with brownies and blondies, so this did not appear to be the correct way to go. These cookies are not your normal shop bought cookie and are thicker and contain more filling than those purchased at major retailers. One quote I received was "They are somewhere between a cake and a cookie". Every flavour I sell has been rigorously taste tested through family and work colleagues and only when all positive feedback is received do they go on sale.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and as always have a great day.
